Kitsune Personalized Character Commission

Somewhere between a goddess and a con artist, the kitsune has been charming, tricking, and occasionally terrifying mortals for over a thousand years. Japan's mythical fox spirits don't follow rules. They grow tails the way other people collect grey hairs: one per century, until the legendary nine-tailed form is reached and they become something closer to a small weather event than a person. They serve gods. They seduce samurai. They run shrines and ruin marriages. Sometimes both in the same week.

We've spent a lot of time painting them, and we have opinions.

So far, we've brought to life sacred white Byakko and celestial Tenko under the moon, miko shrine maidens in red hakama, fierce Kyūbi wreathed in fox-fire, dark Yako in smoky taverns, modern urban kitsune on neon-lit rooftops, and a few entirely original characters that defy easy classification, exactly as their owners imagined them.

The kitsune we haven't painted yet is the one in your head. The color palette, the costume, the expression in her eyes, the world she belongs to. That's the one we want to paint next.
